“
Relationship, or the interconnections between two people, has been significant in all healing since the time of Hippocrates and Galen” – PetrÅ«ska Clarkson
Allow me to share a little about myself and my way of working:
I am a fully qualified (Level 7) relational, integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I am bound by their ethical framework, and all my work is carried out with the utmost confidentiality. In addition, I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, and am registered with the Information Commissioners Office (GDPR).
I have a varied work background including the education sector, sales and property management. The one theme that spans all that I have done is PEOPLE! My interest in myself, and others, led me to study a BSc (Hons) Psychology & Counselling degree, in conjunction with a Certificate of Higher Education at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (Swansea). I then studied for my Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Wales (Newport).
I have a private practice based in Port Talbot and Swansea working with people with various life issues including (and not limited to) anxiety, depression, bereavement, self-esteem, work, long-term health conditions, and family. I also volunteer and carry out sessional work with a large UK charity focusing mainly on living well with HIV and sexual health, gender identity, sexual identity, and chemsex.
I aim to provide a safe, calm space in which we can co-create a therapeutic relationship for us to work and examine the issues which you are facing in a non-judgmental manner. It is my belief that by working toward unity of self you will learn to form a complete and complex whole.
My mantra is – Trust yourself. Trust me. Trust the process.
